 Description

I killed a skeleton at my skeleton spawner and a leather tunic with multiple enchantments fell, when i walked over it it filled my inventory with 'infinite' leather tunics. Don't know how or why...

This is certainly not resolved. :/
I have had the same thing happen on two separate occasions on a server. Both times I got Golden chestplates with 'Protection III' and 'Thorns I'. For the record, I am using 5.1.2.

Judging from the other posts about this bug, here are my observations so far:
-The initial bug-item only appears when dropped.
-The type of mob that drops the item does not matter; In fact, it seems even players can drop them upon death.
-The bug is limited to chestplates only.
-The type of chestplate does not matter.
-The chestplate always has two enchantments on it; the 1st of which does not matter, the 2nd of which is always 'Thorns I'
-I don't think this happens with every chestplate that meets the criteria above, though I may be wrong. My theory Is that it only happens when 'Thorns I' tries to damage an attacker while being dropped at the same time.

About the bug-item:
-The bug-item cannot be shift-clicked around the inventory
-The bug-item duplicates when right-clicking to drop the item into the inventory, or upon attempting to pick it up off the floor.
-It can be worn, but if it takes too much damage from an initial hit, it will immediately break.
(However, if u equip it then touch a cactus or have another player to punch you, the bug-item returns to being a functional, non-bug, chestplate)
-The bug-item can be combined with itself on an anvil; yielding another bug-item with improved enchantments.
