 Description

So I'm on a minecraft bedrock server.

The End dimension everything is working fine except the fact that it keeps spawning the End Cities all messed up.

Anyone know of this bug? We're on the latest 1.16 (created and on). This is not realms, but created using the Minecraft kit on the website, no plugins and nothing of the sort. Just straight up vanilla. I tried running the seed on singleplayer and everything works perfectly fine.

We reset the end dimension but that did not fix the issue. New chunks generated, generated that messed up end cities. EVERYWHERE.

Files need to be fully upgraded between every version. Just copying the new over the old (or only copying some of the files) is a recipe for disaster and affects the game in so many ways that aren't always immediately apparent. Even though the issue presented itself initially in 1.16, its an ongoing problem of players not understanding how to upgrade their BDS installs.

See if a new set of server files works. If it doesn't we might need a copy of your world files to see if I can reproduce.

  1. For that it seems it has to do with 1.16.0 and 1.16.1, I'm on 1.16.4
Possibly this was opened on version 1.16.0 so I'll definitely look into that

2. It's not a broken seed from what I'm aware of. Actually other things that are weird might have to do with what you said about correctly updating (maybe not sure). First I'll give the seed  -722413985 and yes I've tested on singleplayer, on singleplayer everything is working correctly, so that really shows its server sided (the problem).

But yeah I'll look into the first point you've made. But to be clear I think 1.16.3 was the start (I'll look, not sure if it also messes with 1.16.3, 1.16.2)

I'm not able to reproduce this.

Are you able to reproduce it when moving your current world folder over to a fresh download of the BDS files? The only 2 options I can think of are that either:

  1. You have not updated your BDS files correctly (explained in more detail at BDS-6230) which causes broken world gen, or
  2. You have found a broken seed, but because you've provided no details on the seed this one is impossible to confirm
