Having a strange issue. My Bedrock server is 1.16.20.3 and my Windows 10 Edition is 1.16.20. After setting up 1.16.20.3, I can't connect to my server. It timeouts and says "Unable to connect to world". I could connect to it before this version. Nothing changed on my end other than downloading the latest version and installing it. Same server properties and whitelist and setup. My sons can connect to the server with their Minecraft Pocket Edition for Android on their tablets. But I cannot. |

My apologies. I sometimes let my frustrations get to me (not to mention work-related stress during all this quarantine mess) and I am sorry for being snarky. I was so frustrated that I missed one item while I did my troubleshooting steps. So I started all over from the start.

I'm not brushing it off, but given the thousands of BDS servers all over the world, if there was a bug preventing people from connecting we would see more reports logged for it. Its also not possible to reproduce this with a vanilla BDS install based on the information you have provided. In fact, your sons being able to connect prove that the server is running and listening for connections meaning your issue is one specific to your setup or account or requires very specific reproduction steps. If you have steps to reproduce the problem from a vanilla BDS install please feel free to provide more detail. |

I did consult them. I've had a personal server set up for the past year. It's only after I updated to server 1.16.20.3 that I couldn't connect to it from my PC. The kid's tablets can connect with no issue. Only my client won't connect to it. I will head over to support but considering it's in Alpha stage, I wouldn't just brush it off on the possibility of a bug.

Hi Janin, As i mentioned in your the report you commented on, the version of server and client is not always the same, nor is the version of client between platforms (for example, right now Windows 10 is on 1.16.20, Switch is on 1.16.21 and PS4 is on 1.16.30). This is not the cause of your issue, not being able to connect is likely to be a technical issue which we cannot help you with here. This is a bug reporting platform, its not appropriate for support. You're welcome to head over to the Community Support Discord and ask for help there. If you are trying to connect to the BDS server from the same PC it is running on I would suggest consulting the how-to in the BDS files as it specifically speaks to this issue. Quick Links: |
