 Description

After the 1.16 update, my server running Bedrock Dedicated Server software (Ubuntu) is behaving differently w.r.t. spawning.

Specifically, skeletons and creepers, spiders, and slimes are spawning constantly in well lit areas during the day, in both the overworld and underground.

I have ensured light levels are extremely high.  There are cats everywhere.  This does not deter creepers from spawning.

Tried various difficulty levels.  This does not seem to change the spawn rate.

If this is intended behavior, please consider revising or giving us server options to control various spawn rates.  The game is almost unplayable with the number of creepers that spawn.  It is constant and not preventable.

I upgraded the server by unzipping into a new folder and then copying (recursively) the entire contents of the 1.16 folder into the existing 1.14 folder and overwriting all.

I am not experiencing the issue described in 6242.  6242 describes world gen problems and no hostiles spawning.

It is rather that mobs are spawning where they should not, and where they did not prior to 1.16.  I can take some screenshots of places where creepers and slimes are constantly and relentlessly spawning even where light levels are > 7.  There are several others who have reported the same behavior.

I haven't downloaded the world so I can test it on a Win10 client only situation and see if it is server-specific if it will help you troubleshoot the situtiaton

We're tracking this under BDS-6242.

However it sounds like this issue is caused by an incomplete upgrade of the BDS files. Please see the panel in BDS-6230 for more information.
