Environment:

Windows 10 with Bedrock 1.8.0.24

 Description

With online-mode set to false my understanding is that a user should not need to log into xbox.  I've tested v1.8.0.24 for Windows and Ubuntu (on Debian) and found that I can only access the server if i'm logged into xbox.

Is that expected behaviour?

I haven't been able to test with client 1.8.0 as I don't see a way to disconnect my xbox id from it. yet....

Thank you

Sorry, I believe this stems from a misunderstanding of how offline mode works. This issue BDS-5658 explains it.

I am just trying out Bedrock Server for the first time and am experiencing the exact same issue. Server and clients are on the same LAN, clients say sign-in is required.

Server is 1.16.201.2 for Linux

Clients tested are:
1.16.201 for Win 10 (from Microsoft Store)
1.16.201 for iPad

Let me know if I can provide any further information or do any further tests to help debug this.

I've not heard back from you in a while.

In order to keep the Bedrock Dedicated Server project running smoothly I'm going to request this issue be closed as Awaiting Response.

Never fear though! If this is still affecting you in the latest version (and is related to Bedrock Dedicated Server and not the Minecraft Bedrock game) all you have to do is comment and it will reopen.

If your issue does still exist but is related to the game and not the server software please head over to the Minecraft (Bedrock codebase) project.

Hi all,

Is this still an issue? I've noted a few people logging bugs saying that turning off online-mode resolved issues indicating its working for them.

Same issue here.  I still get prompted to login to Xbox Live even though both server and client are on the same private subnet.  Server is Windows 10 with Bedrock 1.8.0.24.  Client is an IPad running1.8.0 and sees the server fine.  Once I log in to Xbox Live, it connects to the server with no other issues.  Other server.properties changes (e.g. gamemode=creative) work as expected.

I was able to get myself a v1.8.0 client with no xbox credentials on the same wired subnet for both client and server.

As soon as the Bedrock server is selected I'm prompted to log into xbox. There is no problem connecting to the server with an xbox gamerid.

Hi Peter,

Unfortunately while all devices are on the same /24 subnet we are prompted to log into xbox as soon as click on the server.

The 1.7 clients are able to see the server and changes that I made to server.properties were visible in the description. I will update to the latest available client and see if there is any difference in the behaviour.

Thanks for the response!

Hi tim,

I believe that for the server to work at all both client and host MUST BE ON THE SAME VERSION. Try updating the client.

For the Online-mode=false issue, it shouldn't matter whether or not you are logged into Xbox Live or not. However, if you are not joining the server from your local network (LAN) then Minecraft will force you to use Xbox Live in order to join.

Good Luck!
