[BDS-10539] Documentation Inaccessible for Automation Created: 12/Dec/20  Updated: 07/Oct/21  Resolved: 07/Oct/21

Status: Resolved
Project: Bedrock Dedicated Server
Affects Version/s: 1.17.11 Hotfix, 1.16.200
Fix Version/s: None

Type: Bug
Reporter: Tareef Dedhar Assignee: Unassigned
Resolution: Invalid Votes: 0
Labels: None

Confirmation Status: Unconfirmed

 Description

Bundling the docs inside of the zip is just an unnecessary, burdening step to anyone running the server in an automated environment. e.g. I run this inside of a docker container, and the docs never even persist to my disk for more than a second.

It is not a big ask to just host the files in a git repo, on the server download page, etc. Forcing users to download, unzip, send the file to a desktop, open it, read it, then delete it and start the actual config/deployment is very unnecessary. Please consider hosting the docs somewhere accessible BEFORE download/configuration/running.

yeah, still an issue, all that's served online is a download link, no docs at all.

Is this still an issue in the latest version (1.17.11)? If so, can you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter).
