I was swimming up a water stream in my base when I started floating. later it happened again it turns out if your swimming up against a wall and you hit a roof you stay swimming until you go back in water, stop holding space/jump or have nothing over your head.
also pressing f5 well "floating" turns your screen black
also if you stop pressing space then press it again really quickly after you get xray
