There has been an issue ongoing since the update. I'm currently playing Windows 10 Minecraft on my PC, and have not been receiving any audio whatsoever from the game itself. My PC does not detect any sound in the audio mixer. However, the Xbox One version works just fine. 

I have updated all my drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled everything under the sun, and followed multiple instructions and methods on Reddit and various other places. Nothing has been able to fix the issue.

My Windows 10 version of Minecraft comes from the Microsoft Store.
