I was just playing minecraft when I decided to write my username in colour.
So I went into the options clicked on the username box and firstly made t bold then italic then dark blue. I made a mistake when typing and realised when I did type when I clicked backspace instead of deleting 1 letter it deleted 3. ( Please note this occurs when you use any coloured text )
When I had erased my name I decided I wanted it a different colour however I then realised I couldn't type anything! So I tried connecting to a server it just clearly displayed on the screen "Invalid Name". So I tried connecting to a singleplayer world and it worked! But when I looked at my name it hadn't changed back to Steve my username was still blank. I typed hello and in the chat nothing came up. So I deleted the tab I had minecraft in and then looked at options, my username was still blank and I couldn't type anything.

The only thing I can think of is deleting minecraft then restoring it however I have many worlds on that game that took ages to create. If I deleted it they would all be gone.

I can no longer make any youtube videos on a server and can't chat in singleplayer. Please try and resolve this as soon as possible because this is urgent letting me being unable to play on servers and taking chat away from singleplayer.

What I would say to do to prevent this from happening again is to change everyones name back to Steve on apple and make sure people are unable to write their names in colour.
