With the release of 1.16, we got a use for the smithing table, but there is this bug where you can put any item (For example, an iron chestplate) in the ingot slot and an emerald in the armour slot. You should normally be allowed to only place diamond gear and netherite ingots and on the correct slot as well.Although putting any items doesn't have a result and doesn't crash the game, it is still a bug.
