There is still a few issues with this new version on PS4 Minecraft. I’ll list them here.
Missing Feature 1: Turn Off Auto Save
In the old version of Minecraft quitting without saving and turning off auto save was two really important features, they are still missing in the current version of the game. I’d rather not fall into lava and lose all my items and hours even days of progress, turning off auto save helped with this and made the Minecraft experience better.
Missing Feature 2: Small Medium Large World Options
In the old version of Minecraft there was options to make worlds Small, Medium, or Large. Now in the new one there’s only Flat, infinite, and some weird “Old” world where it’s just one very tiny map. While I have been wanting infinite worlds for console Minecraft, only being able to make infinite worlds isn’t good on space. The size of the world just keeps getting bigger and bigger, once after exploring an infinite world for an hour, the one single infinite world took up almost a quarter of the storage bar under the worlds tab.
New Issue: Natural Texture Pack Doesn’t Effect New Things
I updated the game today because of the neather update thing, and I immediately noticed there was new weapons armor and gear, Neatherite I think it was called? While I was excited some cool new gear was added, I immediately noticed this new gear isn’t edited by the natural texture pack. So they’re all still 8bit stuff while everything else looks normal. If the new gear isn’t effected by the natural texture pack, I’m fairly certain nothing else in the update is either. So the natural texture pack might need updating.
Honestly with these few irritating issues, I think I much rather play the “Editions” version of Minecraft where all my old stuff is still at and everything works fine. It’s been like two updates I think since Minecraft got this massive overhaul and these issues still aren’t fixed. It’s quite annoying. (Also I set this to private because I have no idea why there’s even a feature to make my support ticket public... that’s very odd. I’d rather keep my support ticket here between me and the Minecraft staff if you wouldn’t mind. I value my privacy.)
