      After downloading the 1.16 update from the Microsoft store, every time I open an existing world, the game becomes very laggy. After a couple of seconds, the game doesn't respond any more and sometimes a loading indicator appears in the middle of the screen and sometimes the new gesture menu appears. At this point, the game fully crashes.

      I let it sit for 15 minutes, but the game was still unresponsive, so I had to close it to be able to use my computer. Nothing worked, not even ctrl+alt+del, so I had to turn off my computer.

      When I started the game back up, the world was not listed. I checked the safe files to see that the world icon was no longer able to be displayed and levelname.txt was empty.

      My reproduction steps are:

      1. Create a world in one of the more recent previous versions (I think 1.14.6 or something like that) of the game.
      2. Update to 1.16.
      3. Open previously created world.

      Some things about this world:

      • I often play with some other players online (they play on windows 10, switch and mobile);
      • The world has recently been copied (I don't see how this would cause the problem), but the copy has the same problem;
      • There was a very large village (like 10 golems present at all time) close to the spawn;
      • The number of animals is quite large;
      • There was a single beacon with the leaping + regeneration effects;
      • No mods were used;
      • Everyone used standard texture packs;
      • I have used legacy skins.
