The bug
Since 1.13 it is no longer possible to shift click items into the same type of slots. (By type of slot I mean the hotbar slots, inventory slots and container slot.) Before 1.13, when you for example had a full inventory, and shift clicked an item that is in a chest, it used to be put to the first empty slot, if the item wasn’t at the first empty slot. This was really useful. Now it is no longer possible. The item won’t get moved at all when shift clicking. The same goes for shift clicking an item in inventory while hotbar is full and other situations.
How to reproduce:
- Put an item in an empty chest, but don’t put it at the first slot
- Make your inventory full
- Try to shift click the item
- It won’t get moved. In versions before 1.13 it used to be put to the first slot.
Expected result: The item will be put into the first slot, like it did before 1.13.
I hope, you understand what I mean. I just forgot to report it. That is why I reported this that late. This bug was introduced in 1.13. Unfortunately I don’t have a video, where I can show that it used to work in 1.12.
