I have been using end gateways fine for a long time, suddenly this one when I shot an ender perl into it from the outer islands (right near an end city) when I spawned I fell into the void and lost all my stuff . This one just generated (as I saw the line come out the top and bottom) is that normal btw?

Here is my inner island portal, I usually spawn under the stairs, this time I think I must have fell through the ground I am not sure it all happened very fast and did not get it recored.
