i ether water bucket trick (place water under feet so you won't take fall damage) or just place water fast and try to pick it back up and the animation plays like i pick it up but i don't, so offen i run away thinking i've picked up my water but have not. it may have to do with the animation, it happens online and offline, in my experience it does not matter if you're online or not, to recreate it just place it down and pick it back up not super fast but normal speed it it happens at random. and also the animation itself is quite inconsistent, maybe updating the animation to look like javas would fix it im not sure.
