When I try make cake, I only get buckets

      I have a Minecraft farm, and I spent ages getting the resources for a cake, but when I tried to make my cake, I only got 3 buckets, and no cake. I have a flat world, I alternate between survival and creative, other people I play with have the same issue on different worlds.
