The /locate temple command found a mineshaft and not a temple

Steps to reproduce:

1: Load world using above seed in Creative Mode
2: Move or teleport to the location I was at; 1000 71 30
3: Enter the /locate temple command
4: The game should return the following coordinates; 1224 y? 776
5: Move or teleport to the above location
6: No temple is visible
7: Dig down to y level 18 (or /tp there)
8: Locate a mineshaft with two mine cart chests
