When a campfire is underneath something that is less than 1 block tall, the smoke still passes through it, but when that smoke hits a beehive, the bees still aggro onto the player when harvesting the hive.  I expected the smoke to calm the bees so long as it is visibly hitting the hive.  According to the Wiki, smoke that passes through a carped should keep the bees calm, and I found a bug report about smoke passing through an open trap door for the Java edition that said it is resolved, but it still doesn't seem to be working on this version. I've tested it with both a carpet and a trap door, and both times the bees attacked me.
