Recently bought the iPad mini to play some games on it. It performs quite well in most games and benchmarks prove that the A12 chip in this iPad is the real deal when it comes to performance. However Minecraft doesn't reflect its performance at all. It lags a lot(well below the 30fps mark) when using high/max video settings. Now that could seem ok at first because we are talking about high settings but my iPhone 7 (that uses a processor that's 2 year older than my iPad's) run way better.

So I decided to create a world with the same seed and crank up the video setting to maximum possible on both iPhone 7 plus and iPad mini 5(fancy graphics, fancy bubbles, smooth lightning, beautiful skies turned on and chunks set at 32) The results are here: https://youtu.be/xGt6QUaDR_k

The left side shows how my iPhone performs while the right side shows how the iPad performs. It really is disappointing. (Make sure that the video is set  to 720p@60fps or 1080p@60fps)
