Lighting glitches in the over-world after returning from the Nether and End

      Note

      There are 4 unrelated bugs having similar symptoms of dark shadows. When commenting or attaching pictures/video here, please be sure you are experiencing this bug.

      • This bug describes the entire world being dark or hazy after return from the nether or end, and light source blocks being the only blocks that are lit, with no light spreading from them.
      • MCPE-58182 describes light not being updated properly across chunk and section ("sub-chunk") borders when areas are reloaded. Light spreads from sources, but the spreading cuts off sharply along chunk lines.
      • MCPE-39439 describes unusually dark but still gradual shadows.
      • MCPE-39368 describes fully black block faces, even right next to a light source. Light does not spread into these areas even when new torches are placed.

      The glitch was resolved by updating my game-mode to Creative.
      I won't talk, or technically write, more than what I've already done. You can see the pictures...

      Description update from MCPE-73148

      Whenever you leave the end dimension via end portal, the lighting of the overworld will break. It appears to be the same kind of lighting used in the end (dark, greenish, pale), and even with the sun out the world is oddly dark.

      How to reproduce:

      1. Set the time to day
      2. Set your spawn on the surface
      3. Go to the end
      4. Leave the end
      5. Observe odd lighting in the overworld
      6. Relog to fix the lighting issue.

      Expected results:
      The overworld should have its normal lighting, instead of this strange end light.
