So my brother and i have played minecraft pocket edition since it came out. We've connected worlds and numerous devices over the years and had no problems. So i promise this problem is not from lack of experience.
Lately when we attempt to play custom maps from the minecraft store from the actual minecraft app we get the error message "unable to connect to world". this only happens from the store maps/worlds. Any rando generated map we connect just fine.
THINGS WE HAVE TRIED
-made sure we are both connected to same wifi
-updated minecraft version to the latest version
-tried several different devices
-unfriended and refriended each other on xbox live
-made sure all settings allow multiplayer
-restarted devices
-both purchased the map incase it was a licensing issue
none of which worked, even like the maps that are free downloads seem to not allow us to connect multiplayer. The only thing that worked was when the host of the world we were trying to join stayed signed in to xbox live account and the people who wanted to join had to log out of xbox live. Frustrating because we have to log out and back in to our accounts every time we want to experience these worlds together. This can't be inteded or the only way to do this! Because we lose our custom purchases and skins until we log back in ugh. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to ask me any more clarifying questions. Please please help my headache and hours of trouble shooting.
