playing on a realm server, everything was fine until suddenly the hunger bar just stopped working.

hunger doesn't not go down even when on Hard difficult, we tried using a command to give us the hunger effect, we tried running and jumping, I back up to an older save still  nothing, changing the new to a brand new one fixed it however our original world which we all spent time building up and playing on it just won't work.
