There seems to be a spike in lag in loaded areas where a lot of villagers are located in my solo world. This started when I joined the 1.16 beta for bedrock. I haven’t seen any issues in other loaded areas regarding other mobs or entities, so I’m assuming it has something to due with villagers. I can’t give you a specific amount necessary in the loaded areas for them to become affected, however, it didn’t seem to take much for it to start.

The lag I’ve noticed involves literally every aspect of the game save for character movement, and your walk and swing speeds (as well as every other character-specific movement) remain the same. Consuming items, breaking blocks, and npe movement are significantly slowed, and effect particles dissipate long after the effect itself wears off.

Also, block lag has become fairly intense, as blocks seem to break without updating their state, cause if the game to think they’re still there. This causes seemingly random suffocation damage when moving through the occupied space at head level. Only updating adjacent blocks or reloading the chunk seems to fix already-affected blocks.
