I was boating over the ocean (specifically in a jungle-wood boat, if that matters) with my beloved pet dog in the back. After needing to quickly get off, I simply exited the app entirely (rather than going to pause > save and quit.) Later, when I re-logged back into my game around half an hour later, I was super disappointed to find my player floating in the water, and both my boat and my wolf buddy nowhere to be seen.
