When playing on multiplayer, other players on my world appear to be simply “gliding” across the ground. I have no idea as to why this occurs, but it looks quite surreal. Very rarely, this occurs with animals, too. Sometimes other players’ arms will be caught in weird positions as they are walking normally, appearing as they are drawing an imaginary bow as they walk.
