When finishing creating something in the furnace, the texture itself and interface will remain "Switched On", not clearing the progress bar and the normal entity texture remaining lit up and on when there is no fuel as well.

The furnace texture graphical bug stopped after I reput something back into it so it might just be the entity itself not block updating
