Piglins are not always attracted to gold ingots/gold items

      I dropped a couple of gold ingots around a piglin.

      What I expected to happen was...:
      The piglin would follow the gold ingots.

      What actually happened was...:
      The piglin lost interest.

      Steps to Reproduce:
      Find/Spawn a piglin.
      Drop a couple of gold ingots.

      According to MCPE-72088 this seems to be related to piglins not being able to notice gold items at different Y-levels.
