The game crashes when I put on the elytra

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create a new world.
2. Open the pause menu and click on Profile.
3. Click Create Character on an unused character and save the character by heading back to Profile.
4. Click Edit Character and import a custom skin.
5. Add a cape to the custom skin.
6. Exit the character creator and equip elytra.

Observed Results:
The game crashes.

Expected Results:
The game doesn't crash.
