• I was unable to remove an item (bee hive) from a chest
• When I broke the chest, the bee hive appeared in my inventory
• I was then unable to remove the bee hive from my inventory
• After it appeared in my inventory, I was unable to place an item from my hotbar into my world.

Sorry, I was unable to provide a screenshot.  I did a search but did not identify a similar problem.  You're welcome to access my PC or instruct me on how to send you a world file(s) if it will help to resolve this problem.
