gets stuck on "connecting to multiplayer game"

      i try to join my friends worlds but it gets stuck on 'connecting to multiplayer game" but then it stops trying to connect and it says" unable to connect to world" this problem just started after i updated my minecraft. please fix this bug as soon as possible.
