When loading up the game with a resource pack installed to global resources that contains a custom colormap the game immediately crashes as you load up a world. However, game loads correctly if the pack is applied to the world itself, not global resources (at least from my testing).
-Resource pack I was testing was in the development_resource_packs folder, not the resource_packs folder
