When crafting cake, place all ingredients in crafting table, craft, cake flashes to available inventory slot or hot bar and disappears, along with 2 of the three buckets used to craft it.

if you exit the world immediately the buckets are back in your inventory when you re-load into the world, but the cake is only there sometimes.
