In Bedrock Edititon, The Hero Of The Village effect removes itself as soon as you Leave the game, and when you rejoin, it is no longer there, the time the effect was applied does not seem to matter. I tested it with leaving 10 seconds and In my survival world, for hours before leaving. The result was they both removed the effect.
