As of most recent update (yesterday, Oct 30, 2019), sugarcane breaks completely when second segment is harvested. 

Problem replicated on three separate auto-farms, including one purpose-built after update.

This completely breaks auto-farming of sugarcane. 

I don't have bamboo to compare in survival, so cannot verify if the issue affects bamboo as well.
