Leads attached to mobs and a fence can break and the item does not drop when the player leaves the dimension or chunks of the fence post with the leash attached. This occurred to me many times on my realm and is very annoying. Mobs that have been freed by despawning leads can still wander far far away which makes it much more tedious..
