I was playing Minecraft with my friends, and we were hitting each other as a joke. However, I was going to enchant my iron boots, so I put in my iron boots and 17 lapis lazuli into my enchantment table and enchanted my iron boots with Protection I. However, as soon as I made the enchantment, my friend punched me at the exact same time. When I went to check for my new enchanted iron boots and my lapis, they were not in my inventory. I then went to make a different enchantment with some newly crafted iron boots and a stack of lapis lazuli. I put the boots and the lapis into the enchantment table but then exited out without enchanting, expecting the boots and the lapis to be in my inventory. However, when I then checked my inventory I had lost my stack of lapis and the new boots I crafted, but I gained my old iron boots with Protection I and the 17 lapis.
