Lightning will strike and spread when high up in a mountain biome, even if there is snow on the mountain and it is snowing. During a thunder storm on our realm we have had many houses burn down due to lightning striking even though it is high enough that snow it falling on the structure so the flames do not get put out, this has happened in excess of 10 times on our realm.
