When using the /replaceitem command to place a shield into an entity's offhand (/replaceitem entity @e slot.weapon.offhand 0 shield) activating the command will crash the game, forcing you out of the app, onto the home screen. Reopening the app, the game loads as if it had been closed completely (white screen, Mojang logo on white screen, tile menu). When you open the world that had just crashed, everything is where it was just before you had activated the command. Adding a selector (or multiple selectors) to the command such as: "/replaceitem entity @e [type=zombie] slot.weapon.offhand 0 shield" or "/replaceitem entity @e [r=4] slot.weapon.offhand 0 shield" changes the crash slightly, the screen goes black for about a second before you appear on the home screen; unless you used a command block to run the command, in which case the crash will act as it does without the selector.
The bug appears to only take effect when shields are put into an entity's offhand, though I didn't try many other options (an apple, a diamond sword, and dirt, in the offhand, and a shield in the mainhand were my only attempts to recreate the bug with different items/slots) so there may be other items that it works for. Also, the bug only seems to effect entities with an offhand for the shield to go into, since when useing the command "/replaceitem entity @e [type=minecart] slot.weapon.offhand 0 shield" to see if targeting a minecart would trigger a crash, the game simply gave the error measage "Could not replace slot.weapon.offhand slot 0 with 1 * Shield". Using "/replaceitem entity @s slot.weapon.offhand 0 shield" or "/replaceitem entity @e [type=player] slot.weapon.offhand 0 shield" to give a player a shield does not trigger a crash either.
