In the Bountiful Upgrade, mapping changed so that there was a fixed grid at every zoom level that aligned to upper left corner -64, y, -64, ensuring there would be no map overlap at different zooms and that four smaller maps would perfectly align with one bigger. After upgrading to Village and Pillage my version of Minecraft seems to have regressed back to the older system were the grid at every zoom level is aligned to center 0, y, 0, ensuring there will be map overlap at different zoom levels and that one bigger map covers the central part of nine smaller ones. Not sure if that is a feature or a bug but I see no note, nor any reason, for this reversion to happen.
