Nintendo Switch
Problem is simple:
One of my child cannot play online multiplayer because of "parental control restriction". Simple and rather common. But: the other can. They have the same devices with the same firmware, the same Minecraft for Nintendo Switch version and the same XBox Live / Microsoft account privacy and safety settings. The same...
It works on one account and on the other it doesn't.
It worked smoothly for 2 months (February - April) and now it has stopped. Before that, both played without any problems. No permission changing, just automatic firmware / software updates.
As I said everything is the same:
- Two the same consoles - Nintendo Switch updated to v8.0.0
- The same WiFi network with the same gateway and the same NAT type (B)
- The same XBox Live / Microsoft account privacy and safety settings (Privacy & online safety on account.xbox.com webpage - tabs Privacy, Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety, Xbox 360 Online Safety - current parameters of both accounts below)
- The same Nintendo account parental control settings.
Below is a list of what I tried and what didn't help solve the problem:
- Change permissions on XBox Live / Microsoft Account - Privacy, Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety, Xbox 360 Online Safety - block and allow again. Checked - didn't work.
- Logout and login on Minecraft for Nintendo Switch with the same account. Checked - didn't work.
- Remove from Minecraft for Nintendo Switch and add again the same XBox Live / Microsoft Account (Settings -> Profile -> Clear Account Sign in Data). Checked - didn't work.
- Create and attach new account dedicated only for Minecraft for Nintendo Switch. Checked - didn't work.
- Complete Minecraft for Nintendo Switch reinstall (with Nintendo Switch save data remove and both old and new account verification). Checked - didn't work.
- Logging on with working XBox Live / Microsoft Account on the other console, which still communicate "parental control restriction". Of course, before that, logging out on the second console. Checked - didn't work. Again: "parental control restriction". WHAT? Why does it work on the other console? (I personally think it's the best ).
After this test, I restored the original accounts and wrote this report.
So I tested:
- Network issues (most common problems),
- Software issues (save or login data could be corrupted),
- Account permissions and privacy settings issues (possible limitations of the privileges).
And nothing helps. Still the same problem and message: "parental control restriction".
I cannot find any solution. Microsoft also cannot find any - they tried to help me through remote support channel.
What is wrong with this software that only it causes so many problems? By setting up an online account I tried to get around the problem of playing on the local network. It worked for 2 months...
Kids play a lot of this game, that's why I put so much effort into restoring the functionality they've benefited from.
I'm asking for your help in solving this really weird issue.

Below are list of current permissions - the same on both accounts and only one of them works:
