I can connect to multiplayer minecraft worlds on Xbox Live, but I cannot create or load one myself.
Steps to reproduce:
- On creation of a new world or when editing an existing world, set the Multiplayer Game toggle to the on position. (Xbox Live Settings and Visible to LAN Players can be set to any values without preventing the crash.) All other world settings can be left to defaults.
- Then attempt to load world. The loading screen comes up for a few seconds, then the music stops, then after a long hang one more moment of music will occur, you might get the Mojang splash screen once more as it then kicks you back to the Xbox dashboard.
If it was a new world, the world will never generate and the world size will remain <1MB. If it is an existing world, it will not load until you turn the Multiplayer toggle back off. Then it will load normally.
I am able to connect to multiplayer worlds started by other players. I am just not able to load or create a multiplayer world of my own.
Troubleshooting:
- I have uninstalled the Minecraft app, deleted all local saved games, deleted all cloud saved games in xbox live, and reinstalled the app. (no change)
- I have deleted all world saves from inside Minecraft, uninstalled the Minecraft app, deleted all local & cloud games on Xbox & Xbox live, then reinstalled the Minecraft app (no change)
- I have tried this with 2 versions of Minecraft
- splash screen version v1.9.0 & version in "manage game & add-ons" xbox menu is 1.9.15.70
- splash screen version v1.10.0 which shows version 1.10.7.70 in the game option menu (newly updated to this one today)
- I have tried this with 2 different Xbox One consoles (both have this issue)
- I have tried this with 2 different Xbox Live accounts (both do this)
- I enabled all Xbox Live sharing as a test (no change)
- I opened all ports on the home network as a test (no change).
- Muliplayer worlds still fail to load even when NAT type shows Open and all other Xbox live services work fine
At this point I have run out of ideas to test. If you can give me instructions on how to capture a stack trace or crash dump from within the Xbox console (if that's possible), I'll be happy to provide that additional detail from both consoles experiencing this issue.
As it stands, I never get any errors to report - just the hang in the world load screen where the music glitches & stops, and then it kicks me back to the Xbox dashboard. Please let me know what additional information I can provide to help with troubleshooting.
