To start off, me and my two other friends had spent countless hours in a single world, on Minecraft Bedrock, Xbox One. The world, jokingly, was named Big Chungus 2.0. The name is irrelevant. We had this world for a while, it was made on Xbox One so it wasn't a transfer, total megabytes was about 400+, roughly. A massive sized world, infinite.

Went to boot up the world one day in Late February-Early March, I found it was missing from the roster of worlds. There's only maybe 5. So I'm like "okay". I closed the game, delete my saved data, clearing the caches from the game, boot it up. I see it. It's grayed out, and I go to boot it up, it chokes a bit, but boots up just fine. Eventually we quit the game, saving as we leave, and we have the world.

On March 10th, we're going to boot the world again. It's missing yet again. So I repeat the process, close my game, clear my cache, boot it up, I see the world. I go to boot it up, and everything freezes.

For about 30-60 seconds, the game is frozen, voice chat is lagging, and then another 20 seconds of silence before the game crashes completely. Rebooting the game again, I once more find that the world is gone. I've cycled this process over and over, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, yet the game crashes each time I try to load the world specifically.

There are a couple things I've noticed in this process:

      • The World Name doesn't exist when you open the edit options menu.
      • The World still shows up in storage menu, but not the game menu regardless of the cleared cache or not.
      • The game hasn't taken any long processes to sync up the world due to the crashing.
      • No game update, that I am aware of, seems to cause this issue.
      • Uninstalling the game and reinstalling changed nothing.
      • I cannot create a copy of the world, doing so crashes the game.
      • I cannot name the empty blank and load up the world, doing so crashes the game.
      • There haven't been any recent reports of this happening to other users, and I have not found a solution.
