When I throw an ender pearl into an end gateway, I am teleported into bedrock and die. It is not possible to free myself by throwing another ender pearl or eating a chorus fruit. 
Sometimes, the chorus fruit transports me into a black space with no definded blocks or with a crate or fires in empty space.
