This has now happened twice in this same world. I will be in my house completely safe and save and quit the world. When I go back later to play, I spawn falling from the sky in a random place and die. Due to not having keep inventory on, everything is lost. The first time it happened I found a few of my items very far from my home in a place I had never been before. The second time I looked but couldn’t find anything.
