Even though this was originally a bug, it has been one of the most useful "features" of redstone in Minecraft. Seems like someone at Mojang decided to fix it. Torch keys are broken. Some flying machines are broken. Some piston door designs are broken. Removing these mechanics out of the blue causes problems with already established methods in redstone.
