Hoppers that are placed facing into a block (chest, furnace etc.) simply don't work. They don't move the items inside them into the chest, they just stay in the hopper. It work vertically, but not horizontally. So I've found out that hoppers don't work the way they should a while ago, but I thought it would be fixed eventually. However, with the most recent update, it's still not working for me. I remember that this worked in bedrock before, so I believe it's not intentional and is a bug. If so, please look into it.
