Command Block not giving redstone comparator a pulse when the execute command is in it

      I was using command blocks and I put this command in /execute @e[type=item] ~ ~ ~ detect ~ ~1 ~ log 1 fill ~ ~ ~ ~ ~15 ~ air 0 destroy and tried using repeating, chain, and impulse command blocks and it still did the same thing. It works but I can't even get another chain command block start after it, it just doesn't give any pulse for a true or false statement.
