(Actual Version: 1.6.0.1) It seems that blocks that can move like the conduit and banners are invisible in creative inventory, survival inventory, and when holding them too. Even mobs and skins seem to only have their head visible. (P.S. 1.6.0.1 is not an ID in affect version right now, so yeah...)
