Water flows over top of fire and does not extinguish

I was testing melting patterns, during the day.
I laid out the 5 'cold' types, snow, snow blanket, ice, packed ice and blue ice, then set fire in front of them.
When the ice melted the water it formed flowed over top of the fire and did not extinguish it. The fire eventually extinguished on it's own naturally.

Creative mode, normal diff, fire spreads active, experimental mode on. (also day/night and weather active)
