      Helper Edit

iOS 11 introduced a new keyboard feature called "Smart Punctuation", this feature automatically converts typewriter quotation marks to "orthographically correct" quotation marks. (right quotation mark, left quotation mark; U+201C, U+201D; U+2018, U+2019). The default Minecraft font currently does not support these quotation marks and therefore changes the font to Unicode font as soon as a quotation mark of that kind is entered into a input field.

As a workaround for this issue, you can disable the Smart Punctiation feature in the keyboard settings of your iOS device. (Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Smart Punctuation)

When I am typing a sign, and I write some text that for some reason needs an apostrophe, all the text on that line switches to a weird font.

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Place a sign.

      2. Write something on the sign.

      3. Put an apostrophe after what you just wrote.

EDIT: Also works with quotation marks.
